Doodles Paper Playground August 2018 Release Blog Hop

You Are Simply Wonderful

Welcome to the second stop on the Doodles Paper Playground
August Release Giveaway Blog Hop!!

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I  used a new stamp that I just got from White Rose Crafts, Gorjuss Girl # 47.
I have been wanting to try these stamps for so long,
I finally broke down and got a few. . . .
and I will be getting more! She was so much fun to color!!
I used copic markers.

I die cut both my base panel and my top panel with my shaker window.

I stamped my sentiment on the front panel,
added my acetate and double layer of foam tape to the back.

I placed my base panel on to my card base,
measured out my sequins and added my top panel.

I used my scan and cut to cut out my image.
Because I used white for some parts of her dress she didn't cut out perfectly,
but no problem.
I just used the top portion of her and nobody would even know!

For this card I used the Sparkle Blend Bubble Gum Ice from
Doodles Paper Playgrounds new August release.

I am really loving the flat glitter sequins and the stars and colors in this mix are just great! They are my favorite new addition to the sparkle blends this release!

Flippin Amazing - Beth Duff Designs

Flippin Amazing

For this card I used the Seas the Day stamp set from Beth Duff Designs new summer release.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I started by die cutting my top panel and adding the slider track.
I placed my panel on the card base so that I could place the
cut out in the correct place.
Doing this makes the card look better, the pattern is pretty seamless
instead of have a white path right in the center of your card!

I added two layers of foam tape to the back of the top panel.
I needed to add a little bit more foam tape to the center of the card
for some support but it turned out ok.
Just make sure that you have enough room for the penny
slider to move up and down the track.

The penny slider!
I use a single penny and us a single layer of foam tape.
I did add a little piece of score tape to both sides of the foam tape just
because the Scor tape seems to stick better to the penny and
I do not want it to come apart.
I placed the penny behind the panel in the track.

*Also, I wanted my mermaid to actually flip and spin around instead of just sliding so I made the foam tape on the penny smaller than the sliding track. If I had made it longer she would only slide and not flip around.*

Then I attached my mermaid to the penny slider and added the
panel to card base.

I die cut a banner and stamped my sentiment then
I added the rest of my images and a few clear sequins!

Out of This World Birthday Shaker Card - Doodles Paper Playground

Out of This World Birthday

Hello!
Today is my birthday!
Since it is my birthday, I made the best birthday card with my favorite things!
Galaxy, glitter, stars and sequins!

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Galaxy background first!!
I decided to use the alcohol ink paper with micro glaze for this background.

First I laid down my splotches of color and sealed them with the glaze.

Next I added two layers of Black Soot

I added more of the colors on top to kinda get rid of the sharp edges on the color.

Every galaxy needs stars!
I first did just some water flecks with some perfect pearl water and then
I added some flecks from my Finetec Iridescent paint set.

After everything was dry I buffed the panel with glaze. . . I love how it turned out!

I thought it still needed more stars so I diluted a little bit of gesso and flicked it onto the panel.
I know that I just put a waterproof coat on my panel but the gesso dried just fine.

While my galaxy was drying I colored my images.
I used matching Distress Inks and added a little wink of Stella to each one.

I die cut a banner and white heat embossed my sentiment.

I used the small stitched star frame from Lawn Fawn.
I decided to put the frame back into the base panel and love how it looks.

I added my piece of acetate and a double layer of foam tape to the back of my top panel.

I added a black panel to my card base and measured out my sequins.
I place my top panel on the card.

Lastly I added all my images and my sentiment banner!

I love how this card turned out!
It is one of my favorites!

For this card I used the Sparkle Blend Bubble Gum Ice from
Doodles Paper Playgrounds new August release.

I am really loving the flat glitter sequins and the stars in this mix are just great!
They are my favorite new addition to the sparkle blends this release!

There are more great Sparkle Blends and a large assortment of items for all your crafty projects over at White Rose Crafts!

Mermaid Hello Shaker Card - Beth Duff Designs

Mermaid Hello

For this card I used the Seas the Day stamp set from Beth Duff Designs new summer release.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I started by stamping my images on watercolor paper so that I could
color them using Mission gold watercolors.

I had this super pretty holographic patterned paper that I wanted to use for this shaker card.
I die cut it to fit my card base and then also die cut the shaker window.

I wanted to keep the whole pattern intact so the circle I cut out is going to be the back of the shaker.
I placed the panel on my card base and adhered the circle to the card base so that it would be in the correct place .

Time for foam tape!
So since I attached my circle to the card base, I am adding all the foam to the card base
and will put my panel on top once everything is ready to be assembled.
I added a double layer of foam tape all around my circle and on the edges of the card
base to give the top panel some support.
I filled my well with some pretty peachy/holo star confetti.

I placed the panel on top making sure to really make sure the panel adhered
to the foam tape so no stars escaped!

Next step is to add my images!
I also added a die cut hello from Simon Says Stamp.

Normally this is where I would add some matching sequins to the front of the card,
however since this patterned paper is already really pretty I didn't think they were needed.
