You Are My Sunshine

You Are My Sunshine

My Card. . .

I started with a base panel die cut from Lawn Fawn yellow stripe paper from Polka in the Meadow with the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die. Then I used the next die size to cut an inner white panel. I sponged on some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for the sky on the top portion of the white panel.

The sun and the sentiment are from the Simon Says Stamp set Bring the Sunshine. For the sun I only inked up the outer sun portion, avoiding the wording on the inside and I die cut it out with a circle die. Then I mixed and matched the sentiment, stamping it in Lawn Fawn Fish Tank and Sunflower.

I used two different cloud on this card, Some felt like sticker clouds I picked up at Michael's and then the clouds from Lawn Fawn Blue Skies stamp set. I stamped them on some lawn Fawn pattered paper in Lawn Fawn Fish Tank  and die cut them. I adhered them with foam dots so that they would be in front of the felt clouds.

For my floral element I used the sunflowers from the Lawn Fawn Happy Harvest stamp set. I stamped the flower with the Lawn Fawn Sunflower ink and colored them in with Zig Real Color markers. I stamped the stems directly onto the panel and attached the flowers with foam dots.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday

My Card. . . .

I got the My Favorite Things Card Kit for March and I love it! The little woodland animals are sooo cute, starting with the adorable moose!

I stamped him out in black ink and then colored him in with Zig Clean Color markers.

For my card base I used the MFT Biscotti paper that came in the kit. I picked up some gold wood grain paper the other day and decided that this would be the perfect backdrop for my little moose. I die cut both colors with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle die and then used a Sizzix circle die to cut my circle. I cut a whole panel of the gold wood grain so that I could have the stitched edging all around my card.

I stamped out the Birthday greeting from Lawn Fawn Year Two birthday stamp with some Distress Ink in Walnut Stain.

I stamped out some of the trees that came in the stamp set on the biscotti paper using Lawn Fawn Jalapeno and die cut them as well. I then added this gold washi tape to the left side and added some Lawn Fawn Lawn wood veneer stars and a few brown and gold sequins.

I am entering this card into the MFT Sketch Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Hope Your Birthday is Unbelievable

Hope Your Birthday is Unbelievable

My Card. . . .

The challenge at Simon Says Stamp for monday is "Try to Resist" I stamped the planets from the Mama Elephant Space bears set in Versa Mark and clear heat embossed them then did my galaxy on top. Wednesdays challenge is Happy Birthday so this card is doing double duty!

For this background the colors I used for the nebulas are Abandon Coral, Mustard Seed and Cracked Pistachio. I used the smoother side of a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper. I took each of those colors and blended a big ol daub of color on the paper. I made the Cracked Pistachio one kinda oblong because I knew I wanted that one to be my biggest color once I was done.

Next I filled in all the white space with Chipped Sapphire, completely surrounding all my color blobs. I went in with Black Soot, getting most of the edges, I left a corner blue, and basically just went over most of the Chipped Sapphire that I just put down. The places where I didn't go over the Chipped Sapphire end up giving you the blue black color of space. I went back in with the Chipped Sapphire and covered those blue spaces again and also did the black again, I kept adding layers until I thought everything looked nice and covered.

I trimmed my panel down a little bit so I added a stripe of blue glitter washi tape to the side and I mixed some galaxy gold Brilliance ink with water and flicked it on top and then also mixed some white acrylic paint with water and used a toothbrush to spray my galaxy with stars. . . .

I got my first My Favorite Things stamp set, Out of this world. I really wanted to use a ton of stuff from this set but I had a really hard time covering my fantastic galaxy! So I just used one of the rocket ships, water colored with the same distress ink colors, die cut and adhered to the corner of the card with some foam tape.

First I tried to do the ink smooshing method, that method never really works for me, I don't know if I have to much water or not enough but it was a fail. So  I decided to use the mini round ink blending tool with the distress inks and it was perfect! It definitely takes lots of layers and I think at first it looks a lot lighter than it will be once its all dry.

You Brighten My Life

You Brighten My Life

My Card. . . .

I recently bought a new paper pack and it had this cute flamingo paper in, so adorable!

The paper pack also had the black/white/gold stripe paper in it, I cut a panel with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle die, then using the next size die I cut a panel from the flamingo paper.

I used my Explore to cut a flamingo then used Picked Raspberry Distress ink on the wing for some dimension. I used a sentiment form the Life is Good Lawn Fawn stamp set. To finish the card I added enamel dots.

I really like this flamingo, he's so cute!

Pineapple

My Card . . . .

I saw this saying on pinterest and just had to make something. I actually made two vinyl mugs and a card. I recently purchased a new card stock pack that has pineapples all up in it!

I die cut my base panel with Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die, then used my Cricut Explore to cut everything else, the pineapples, yellow and green background and the saying in vinyl so I could easily place it on my card.

I put a little bit of antique photo Distress ink on the right side of my pineapples and at the top of my yellow panel and put some crushed olives on the top of my pineapples and used foam tape for the pineapples to give it some dimension. I finished the card with some green and pink doodlebug glitter enamel dots.

Here are the mugs I made. The yellow one has two sides, I put everything together on the white one...

You're So Sweet

You're So Sweet

My Card. . . .

Holy Cow! This card totally pushed my out of my comfort zone. I participated in a sketch challenge and it really made me do something that I wouldn't normally do!

I die cut the brown paper with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle dies, I used the biggest on for my base panel and then skipped a size and used the next one for my two inner panels using Lawn Fawn paper in Mermaid for my second inner panel. My second panel is from a Recollections 6x6 called Bohemian, I liked it for this card because it had two different shades of this teal color I wanted to use.

I lined up my panels according to the challenge sketch and used some Lawn Fawn Trimmings on the bottom, it matched my Recollections paper perfectly! The other challenges for this card were to incorporate food or something sweet so I hit two birds with one stone and used this cotton candy from the Lawn Fawn Admit One stamp set, colored with Zig Clean Color Markers and coated with some stickles. I stamped a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Sweet Smiles stamp set in brown and added a few sequins.

I LOVE this card! I am so glad that I decided to participate in the sketch challenge and cannot wait for the next one!

The Sky's The Limit

The Sky's The Limit

My card. . . .

I used Lawn Fawn Blue Skies stamp set.

I used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle die for my bottom panel, I choose a blue glitter paper so it could be my sky. I also cut the same size panel out of white so that I could cut clouds with the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud die and still have the stitching around the edges, this also gave me a place to stamp my sentiment without having to add another layer to my card. I stamped it in Color Box cats eye purple pigment ink and added a few stars.

I have this bohemien 6x6 paper pack from Recollections, and it has this great purple/pink/orange page in it and I thought this would be great for the coloring of the balloons! So I stamped both balloons and the swag with versa mark and heat embossed with liquid platinum embossing powder. I did put a purple star on the large balloon but it didn't show up very well so I stopped at one.

I added a few felt-like clouds I had and put some stickles along the top for some sparkle, I also added the same stickles to the swag. I used some foam tape on the large hot air balloon so that I could put it in front of the cloud and of course added some Doodlebug glitter enamel dots.

One of my sweet baby sisters just got accepted into the Radiologic Technology program and I wanted to send her something that lets her know she has got this and will be awesome!
