Candy Cane Christmas - Doodles Paper Playground

Candy Cane Christmas

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I started by die cutting my base and my shaker window.

I stamped my sentiment on my top panel with LF chili pepper ink.

I placed my base panel on my card base. . .

laid out my sequins. . . .

and placed my top panel.
I added some sequins to the panel to finish off the card.

For this card I used the Candy Cane Sparkle Blend from
Doodles Paper Playground October release.

I love the little fimo candy canes that are a part of this blend.

Happy Holidays - Doodles Paper Playground

Happy Holidays

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I got this super cute Lawn Fawn set, Making Frosty Friends,
from a super sweet crafty friend this week!

I could not wait to use it!

I heat embossed the images and then colored them with copic markers.

I assembled my snow man and used a snow marker on the ear muffs.

I die cut two base panels for my layered background.

I stamped my sentiment in red, added my snowman with a some foam tape and
then added sequins to finish off the card.

For this card I used the Frozen Sparkle Blend from
Doodles Paper Playground October release.

I love the snowflakes that are a part of this blend.

Congrats Baby Shaker Gate Fold Card - Doodles Paper Playground

Congrats Baby Shaker

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

My brother is having a baby boy in January!
I wanted to make a gate fold car that had a shaker on the inside.

I started with my card base
Click HERE to go to my blog that has the dimensions that I used for this card.

I die cut my shaker frame, added acetate and a single layer of foam so
that the shaker has a low profile and isn't going to bulk up the card.

I spread out my sequins and then placed my shaker frame on top

I used a die cut star on the card belt to hold the sentiment and
used these cute little baby images from Lawn Fawn Plus One

I added the colored paper on the sides flaps and thought it still needed more decor so I added the small stamped stars to the center panel and then
added more sequins to the side panels.

Here is the front of the card.
I added patterned paper to the flaps and kept all the decor
on the inside of the card!

For this card I used the Frozen Sparkle Blend from
Doodles Paper Playground October release.

This release is geared twords the holidays
but I was easily able to use this blend for a non holiday card
by not using the snowflakes and snowmen that were in the mix.
I love that these blends are so versatile.

Doodles Paper Playgrounds October Release Blog Hop Giveaway!

Doodles Paper Playgrounds October Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sparkle Blends October Release Blog Hop for Doodles Paper Playground! This month is full of Blends that are perfect for the upcoming holiday season and beyond!

Christmas Tags!

This release has a theme. . .. Christmas!

I decided to make a tag for each sparkle blend in the new release!

The tags were pretty easy to make.
I die cut two tag shapes and added an extra die cut in the middle of one of them to create the shaker window. I added the acetate window and I used only a single layer of foam tape on these, just enough room to move around a bit! They went together just like a regular shaker card.

Frozen and Candy Cane

Boughs of Holly and Gingerbread Man

Bells Are Ringing and Vixen

I love these shaker tags!
They will be a great addition to any Christmas gift. . .
I think I may even turn one into a card!

GIVEAWAY: For one of 2 chances to win a full set of all 6 sample packs from this release, please leave comments on each leg of the hop, including one idea of how you would use the Sparkle Blend used in that Designing Diva's inspiration card!

The Designing Divas are sharing projects featuring these new Sparkle Blends on their blogs and you can check out a close-up look at each of the Blends on the Doodles Paper Playground Blog.

I decided I wanted to try to make a faux shaker card.

I started by die cutting my two base panels and my shaker window.

I white heat embossed my sentiment and image from the Game Time set.

I placed my panels on my card base.

I filled up my "shaker" area with sequins.
I think this turned out pretty good!
