Christmas Series - Holiday Greetings - February

Hello!

Whew!
I almost didn't make this months cards but I got them in under the wire!!!

I have decided that this year I was going to try to do my Christmas cards through out the year. I sent a lot less cards than I wanted to because I waited till the last minute and just couldn't make enough cards. For 2017 I am going to be doing a set of Christmas Cards on the last weekend of each month. . .

For my February card I used Your Next Stamp set Word Critters Winter Birds.
My card has three pieces on the front so I started by die cutting those out. The square zigzag panel and the stitched rectangle die are both form Lawn Fawn and the Circle is Sizzix. The square zigzag I cut from the same color as the card base so I used some black distress ink around the edges so it would pop off the background. The stitched rectangle die I cut from LF patterned paper and the circle I die cut from watercolor paper.

I stamped the bird on the watercolor circle and used my Zig markers and a water brush to fill him in. I also used Wink of Stella glitter pens on the hat scarf and ornaments for a little sparkle. I attached them all together and then used some foam tape to adhere the set to my card front.

I then took two different words from the stamps set and put them together to make this sentiment. I added a few of Your Next Stamps glittered enamel dots to finish off the card.

I really like how this card turned out, totally not holiday colors but definitely festive!

Life is Sweet

Life is Sweet!

Happy National Strawberry Day!

I made this sweet card using a strawberry layering stamp set from Strawberry Jude Stamps.

I chose a pretty pink/red patterned paper for my base panel and then die cut the white panel using  Craftin Desert Divas Fancy Frame dies.

I used my Misti stamp tool to help me line up the layers for the strawberry, it was really helpful! I added the sentiment that was a Sweet Stamp Shop freebie and a few glittery enamel dots to finish off the card!

There is a sale right now for Strawberry Day over at Strawberry Jude Stamps so you can get your Strawberry Layer set 20% off! Plus all their other great stamps. . . .  Of Course!

Hello

Hello!

I saw this cute jar from Strawberry Jude Stamps and thought it would look great on a shaker card!

First I stamped and clear embossed this adorable jar of jelly. I just used Distress inks to watercolor it. I mixed candied apple and picked raspberry for the jelly color. For the strawberry itself I used candied apple and barn door and mowed lawn and forest moss. I decided to make the top grey so I used pumice stone and a little bit of hickory smoke. Then I fussy cut it out so that I can attach it to the front of the shaker part.

I cut out my pieces for my shaker part, bottom layer, top frame and acetate window. I used two circle dies to get these pieces. I don't know what the sizes are but out of a nesting die set I picked the size that my image would look good on and then I also used the die that was two sizes bigger, so I skipped one die. I did this so that I could create my top frame by die cutting both dies at the same time.

I attached the acetate piece to the frame top, amazingly that is the part I forget to do the most! I then attach a double layer of foam tape to the frame. If you take the adhesive barrier from both sides of the foam tape it makes it bendy so it's easy to place it around the circle neatly. I got together the bits I am going to put inside. I am horrible at judging how much filler to put in things, normally I have way to much or not really enough. I feel like if I spread out the mix and it takes up quite a bit of space than I am good. Obviously if it takes up to much space then there is to much mix and if you have lots of empty space then you need some more.

I used my sticker machine to put adhesive on my jelly jar and attached it to the front of my shaker piece.

Ok, so it is like almost impossible for me to leave white space. . . So I used my leftover color from the jar to splatter my card base.

Once that was dry I attached the shaker piece to the front of the card and stamped this hello sentiment from the same set in the corner of my card.

All done!

I love doing shaker cards and think this one turned out pretty well!

Valentine, You Totally Rock!

Valentine, You Totally Rock!

This card was really simple to put together. I die cute a base panel that was a little smaller than my card base. I stamped my cool dude (Sweet Stamp Shop set Totally Rad) and rockin' hand (Sweet Stamp Shop set Musical) and colored them with copic markers. I colored in the music notes with a glittery grey pen. I added a few hearts that match dudes shirt, I really love this little heart cluster stamp. I had to piece together the sentiment, two different stamp sets and also cut two words from adhesive vinyl and added a few enamel dots.

I love how adorable this card is!

We Go Together Like. . .

Taco and Tuesday!

I love how this card turned out!!!!

I used Lawn Fawn stiched rectangle dies for my base panels. I stamped the images out from Sweet Stamp Shop stamp set Taco Bout It and used my silhouette to cut them out. I colored the images with copic markers.

I also used my silhouette to cut out the sentiment in vinyl, I used red glitter vinyl for the Taco and Tuesday. I then added the images to the base. I know I could have just stamped right on the base, but i like to layer things! I added a few red enamel dots to finsih the card off.

You Are My Forever and Ever

LOVE

I created this card using a layering stamp from Strawberry Jude stamps called Watercolor Roses. I decided to use shades of pink since it is a love card and Valentines is fast approaching! The last layer of the stamp I also stamped in Versamark ink so that I could use some glitter embossing powder. I colored my word LOVE, from the stamp set Love is in the Air, with some light pink copic markers and added some glitter enamel dots.
